TD-SCDMA Update

- Beijing-based T3G Technology announced on June 6 that it has developed a network platform enabling automatic handover of voice calls between TD-SCDMA and GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks. T3G's automatic handover feature has been successfully tested in multiple network environments built by various companies, such as Datang Mobile, ZTE, and TD-Tech.

- As a follow-up to an Asia Express dated June 1, there will be approximately 18 mobile phone makers involved in the TD-SCDMA phone procurement bids, according to China's TD-SCDMA Forum. Participants include ZTE, Datang Mobile, Samsung, LG, Motorola, Haier, Lenovo Mobile, TCL, Huawei, and possibly Nokia.
